First-Class Cabin, Upstate's Orenda is your perfect spring retreat

04/10/2014
Nobody cares that it’s nearly artichoke season, or that your seasonal affective disorder has finally cleared up.
The real reason to get excited for spring is this: It’s almost time to go camping, and we know the perfect place.
Orenda is like camping, only better. Cozied up against a brook in the the heart of the Adirondacks, this backcountry retreat offers the release you get from roughing it, minus the rough stuff. (You could call it glamping — i.e., glamorous camping — but we promise not to tell anyone you said it.)
Your accomodation: a canvas cabin equipped with high porches, sinks and shower-heads with superior pressure, beautiful wood stoves, and an amazing bed. The night’s breeze comes in, but the bugs stay out.
Your extracurricular activities: If the mountain views and trails aren’t enough, Orenda’s also got kayaking, canoeing, white-water rafting, horseback riding, mountain biking, nature walks, and rock-climbing.
Your menu: Just because you’re camping doesn’t mean you can’t eat well. Here you’ll get morning flapjacks with local maple syrup, center-cut pork chops, and skillet-roasted crimini mushrooms stuffed with goat cheese.

Not exactly a campfire can of beans, is it?
